22nd Annual "WALK for LIFE"

Saturday, September 12

New Castle's Baker Park Shelterhouse

(Rain or Shine!!!)

 

8:00 - 9:00 am.        Registration

                                                Music, balloons, face-painting...

                                                  Free t-shirts for pledges of $30 (adults) or $5 (children)

9:00 am.                    Prayer and the Walk begins!

                                                Walking route is just a little over a mile

9:30 - 10:30 am.      Complimentary Food/ Drinks at the Shelterhouse  

                                                Prizes awarded and fellowship with others!

 

Pledge sheets are available in our newsletter or at the Center during regular business hours (Monday through Thursday, 1 - 5 pm.).  Ask you family and friends to sponsor you with a single, generous, tax-deductible gift.  The Walk is a little over a mile in length and we are asking for a flat amount pledge (not a per-mile amount).  Please collect any pledges under $10 and bring them with you the day of the Walk.  A thank-you letter with a pledge reminder will be sent after the Walk to people pledging $10 or more.  Collect a total of $30 or more in pledges to receive a free t-shirt ($5 or more for children 12 and under).  If you can't be there the day of the Walk, you can still participate by obtaining pledges and walking your mile at a time convenient for you.

57,762,169 Lives Lost

If we heard a statistic like that on the evening news, who among us would not perk up our ears in shock and utter disbelief?!

57,762,169.

That's well over 57 MILLION!!!  An inconceivable number for us to even wrap our minds around.

But the very sad truth is that 57,762,169 (at least) is the number of legal abortions in America since the January 22, 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision legalized abortion in our nation for any reason at any time during pregnancy.

Staggering, isn't it???

The world will never know the gifts God bestowed on each of those destroyed lives!  Perhaps among those 57 million, one child would have discovered the cure for cancer.  Or saved the lives of countless others by ridding the planet of the HIV virus.  Or learned how to power our modern world through ways we cannot even imagine.  Or invented the next breakthrough in communication or travel.

Or touched the lives of unsaved people groups by sharing the gospel in the far reaches of the globe.

Only God knows what a devastating loss to mankind are those 57,762,169 human beings who never had a chance to take their first breath. 

Such a fallacy that abortion is a personal decision, only affecting the woman involved.  Abortion affects us ALL!  And 57,762,169 lives is way, way, WAY too many....

 

Christmas is All About a BABY

Over 2000 years ago, a tiny baby was born that changed the world.  

 

His name was JESUS.                         

As he grew, Jesus taught love.  And that's what we strive to show every client that walks through our doors...Jesus's love.

It's hard not to get caught up in all the craziness of spending money on lots of stuff none of us need, but you CAN give a gift that really does make a difference!

We are in desperate need of diapers, sizes 4 and 5, to give to our clients.  Our clothing room is also sparse, we would also appreciate any used children's clothing, especially sizes 3T-6.  Both diapers and clothing will be given to young mothers and their babies in our community that need some extra help.              

Donations can be dropped off Monday through Thursday, 1-5 pm. at the Center.  For more information, call 765-529-7298.

What better way to celebrate the birth of a baby than to share love with other babies?  After all, a BABY is what Christmas is all about!

Walk for LIFE A Great Success!

The 2014 Walk for LIFE fundraiser is in the books, and what a great day we had!

In one of the coldest Walks in recent memory, 198 walkers from 19 area churches raised over $12,000 in pledges. 

Winners were:

1st Place Church - Memorial Wesleyan with 50 walkers, 14 years in a row!

2nd Place Church - First Bible Free Will Baptist with 36 walkers

1st Place Individual - Kaye Williams, $2500 in pledges

2nd Place Individual - Andy & Jennifer Hood, $650 in pledges

Baby Noah Shows the Humanity of the Unborn

Baby Noah died from a spontaneous miscarriage on February 20th, 2014. His mother, Lara, named him Noah because it means “rest” and “peace”.

Noah was only 12 weeks and 5 days old when he died. Even though he passed away, his perfectly formed body displays the development of a new human life, the most spectacular miracle on earth.

Noah’s mother, Lara, said the following about Noah:

“Even though he only lived for twelve weeks, Noah was special to me. I am blessed that I was able to hold him, to see that he was real. Just like every other mother, this first photo of my child will always be special to me. I am devastated that we lost Noah, but I know that his 12 weeks of life had a purpose. His body reveals the miracle of human life. If he could help show one mother considering abortion the beauty of her child, then our loss would be worth it.”

Noah, may you rest in peace. We pray that our nation will see in you the intrinsic value that every human life possesses, no matter how small or frail.

Something to Ponder....

Federal law protects sea turtle nests and their unhatched eggs, with violators being vigorously prosecuted and fined thousands of dollars as well as possibly serving prison time.

Since the historic federal law decision Roe v. Wade 41 years ago this past week, there is no federal law that protects unborn human babies. Human beings, created in the very image of God, can be destroyed before birth at the whim of their mothers.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for protecting helpless baby sea turtles from senseless killing.  But is a sea turtle more precious than a human baby?  Absolutely not!

Why do so many of the same people who passionately fight for the rights of animals see nothing wrong in the killing of unborn human beings?
